Although the shortest days of the year already seem pretty short, they seem even shorter in when you're in Alaska. Working all day and night for days straight probably made the days start to feel pretty long for Jeremy Jones, Zak Hale, Ethan Diess, and Alex Andrews, but they did get a lot done while they were there.

Snow was generally in short supply last year, except for a handful of places like Whistler. In this episode the crew heads to the La Fourche Hut in the Mont Blanc region. No ordinary hut, it requires being fully roped up and climbing a rocky, knife ridge to get there. The hut only being part 1 of the mission, the crew eyes a face called Blanche de Putrey. This face saw a first descent in 1978 and has never been repeated.
