I just came back from a wonderful week in South Africa and as soon as I landed I was on the road for Isola 2000 in the French Alps. It was good to be back on my Blackmountain snowscoot.
After spending two months of mountain bike training in the southern hemisphere, I was not sure how my return on the snow would be but I’m super stoked to announce that I’m keeping my Snowscoot Boarder Cross champion title and to add two new titles in Downhill and Dual Slalom.
The boarder cross track was very nice, you could get a lot of speed and there were big jumps, especially the last one. I won all my runs but I missed the start on the final. I was able to get closer to the first guy, Nicolas Pillin, when, on the last jump, he made a mistake and I was able to pass him just right before the finish.
The Downhill track was pretty easy and I manage the best Elite time.
The Dual Slalom was the last race of the weekend and probably the most thrilling. The final run would be against Yann Grandjean, winner of the last dual slalom world championship. By this time the track was really rough. On the first run we crossed the finish at the same time. On that final run, we started on the same rythym and on the last part I did everything to win.
I do snowscoot in the winter to find some sensation close to mountain biking and I hope I can get more and more to try this sport.
