Excess Baggage: Axel Cruysberghs

Featuring the endlessly creative skating of Sweden's Albert Nyberg, all-terrain destruction of England's Barney Page, and super heavy hammer fest of Belgium's Axel Cruysberghs, Etnies' European am video is a face melter. Filmed all over the world, spanning an entire year, this is the first time either of these international rippers has put out a major street part overseas. Three individual parts, one amazing project. This is AB&A.

Much like a flock of birds we found ourselves migrating south once again, after the first cold and wet days hit central and northern Europe. Unlike our avian friends, we didn’t get to spend the whole winter in the warmer climate. Ten days had to be enough to do two demos and fill up on sunshine, warmth and good skatespots. Barney Page and Charles Collet and their hometowns of Exeter and Grenoble were picked for the last installment of the Tales of Two Cities series, which turned into a bit of an uphill battle. Barney had a busy late summer and fitting the filming mission into his schedule was a bit of a nightmare to begin with. To make things worse, Charles had been plagued by ankle injuries for a couple of months and ended up getting surgery to reconstruct his ligaments one week before he was supposed to vi...

Late this past summer, etnies embarked on a tour of Scandinavian Europe through Helsinki, Finland, Oslo, Norway, Copenhagen, Denmark and Amsterdam, Netherlands. Through some hangovers, twisted ankles and hot-pockets, all the dudes agreed it was one of the smoothest and most hitch-free trips they’d been on. However, there was one thing that loomed over everyone’s head, everyday: Don’t be the last to the van.
