IT'S NOW : FREE-RANDO

The sun has barely crested the horizon. The door to the refuge slams shut. Headtorch in place, skis snug in their skins, ARVA switched on, ropes in the backpack. Everything is set. One last swig of coffee from a hot flask. In less than three hours, they will be standing on the summit. There is just one objective - leave the first marks. The first light of day reveals a breathtaking view. It has been pedal to the metal since the start, but the furious pace falls at the sight of the long ridge snaking spectacularly across the landscape. Just long enough to take in the almost familiar gullies on the right... already skied many times over and scoped out with the greatest care. Only one gully is left to ski... slightly out of the way, standing majestically, with a line that winds its way between the rocks. Snow conditions are ideal, temperatures in recent days have left a fine layer of powder snow, visibility is perfect, the gully is unmarked… IT'S NOW!
