Tim Boal (Anglet, FRA) won the 2011 Protest Vendee Pro at La Sauzaie defeating French Polynesian Alain Riou (Tahiti, PYF) in an exciting final. With exceptional waves on offer and great levels of surfing displayed, it was a great final day, giving Boal his second Protest Vendee Pro crown in four years. Making the Semifinals for a strong return to competition, Marlon Lipke (Algarve, DEU) left a strong impression netting his best ASP result in a year.

Second stop on this year's ASP European Women's Junior Series, the Breti Girls Pro Junior saw the crowning of Justine Dupont (Lacanau, FRA), the consistent regular foot surfer bettering Maud Lecar (Saint Martin, FRA) in the final to clinch her first ASP win of the year. Benefiting from good to excellent waves at La Sauzaie, the Under-21 athletes could express their best surfing to deliver a spectacular show. Congrats' to Justine for her win!

Following a lay day yesterday, the 6 Star ASP event kicked off at 8.30am on this sunny Friday morning at Thurso East in a solid 6 foot swell. Due to small inconsistent waves The O'Neill Coldwater Classic Scotland was forced to hold off from running competition on the 2nd day after the incoming afternoon tide failed to pulse with adequate strength. After three months spent in Tahiti, I arrived at 7H AM in Hawaii, and was so happy to see all my friends from Volcom, Angelo Bonomelli from Italy, Marcelino Botin from Spain, and William Aliotti, Andy Crière, Didier Piter from France.
I stayed my entire trip at the Volcom house front of Pipeline, sleeping downstairs while pros were sleeping upstairs with the view on Pipeline.
