During the 1-hour qualification heat with all 1,000 riders, it was Nathan WATSON (GBR) who was the fastest in the sand and qualified as first. The best 750 riders qualified for the finals. In the 2 hours final race it was MXGP rider Glenn Coldenhoff who took the lead and for a long time it seemed the local hero was taking the win. But in the last hour of the finals, the X-loop opened. A new part of the track with extra tough obstacles. Coldenhoff got slowed down by heavy traffic of struggling amateur riders and he saw Nathan Watson pass by. Finally, a Red Bull Knock Out-win for the 24-year Watson, after he became 2nd in 2015 and 2016.

Red Bull Knock Out was the last stop of the new World Enduro Super Series. Billy BOLT (GBR) was the leader of the competition and with a 12th position in the last stop of the series he took the overall win. Manuel LETTENBICHLER (GER) took the 2nd place and thanks to Watson’s win in Red Bull Knock Out he became 3rd in the WESS standings.
