A big week is in store for the 5Star NESCAFÉ CHAMPS Leysin as the event prepares to celebrate its 20th anniversary. This event has brought many young talents into the limelight and continues to do so with its progressive slopestyle course that includes a superpipe into the setup. Top male and female athletes from all over Europe will be heading to Leysin, Switzerland next week from Feburary 5th to 8th 2011, to compete for a share in the $50,000 USD prize purse and a maximum of 850 Swatch TTR ranking points on offer. The finals for both male and female riders will take place on Saturday, February 12th.

THE NESCAFÉ CHAMPS IS BACK ! For the CHAMPS and those who have followed the event for 19 years, the 2010 winter cant arrive soon enough. The oldest competition in Europe will return to its resort of origin at LEYSIN. That is not the only good news, the long time partner of the CHAMPS will return and re-baptize the event NESCAFÉ CHAMPS.

Seppe Smits may come from a country with no mountains whatsoever, but this is not deterring him from chasing his dream of rising up the TTR rankings. Seppe grew up as a 'Fridge Kid', learning how to ride on Belgium's dry slopes before actually shredding a real mountain for the first time during 1999 in Gerlos, Austria. You would think growing up on dry slope limits the skill set of a young rider, however, Seppe can do it all and has proved this multiple times already.
