Europe’s premium freestyle event celebrated a premiere, for the first time ever Freeskiers were part of the event. The FIS World Cup made its first guest appearance at the LAAX OPEN 2023 with two sport disciplines – snowboarding and freesking. The big event of the last FIS Snowboard World Cup before the Olympic Games took place last weekend in Laax (SUI). At the Crap Sogn Gion, the freestyle snowboarders had best conditions. A truly magical atmosphere after sunset at 2,252 meters above sea level, combined with sensational riding and rapturous fans. Scotty James really threw down on his Australia Day celebration in the first night of X Games Aspen 2017. As temperatures plummeted into the single digits, this Aussie pipe phenom dropped in for the very first run of the night and lit the pipe on fire with massive airs and untapped style. He set the bar very high, earning a 90 from the judges, and never looked back, clenching his first X Games gold.
