In today's modern era, snowboarding continues to grow even more specialized than ever, and most riders are forced to focus on one style of riding with hopes of breaking through and making it big. Japan's Kazuhiro Kokubo is the rare exception. The Kumi Yama event is gaining popularity every year. It truly has no equal internationally and its reputation is unprecedented. Just last year, athletes such as X-Games medalists, world champions, freestyle newcomers, icons and pioneers, “stars” and “old-timers”, as well as amateurs were together representing over 12 countries. It’s an event where different generations of freeskiers and snowboarders get together in a unique atmosphere to enjoy Les 2 Alpes’ snowpark.
