David Lama achieves first ascent of the Baatara gorge in Lebanon
“If you travel roads that have already been discovered, you are basically always just following. But if you go somewhere where no one’s ever been and do something no one’s ever done, you’re on the lead and that’s one thing that I really like.” David Lama’s guiding philosophy has already taken him to the most impressive mountain ranges of the world and, more recently, to the Baa...

With world title races and critical points in every category hanging in the balance, the world’s best freeriders revelled under the pressure of Crunch Time and gave it their all in Andorra after patiently waiting for conditions to allow for today’s competition to go down. Jackie Paaso (USA) meant business today when she came flying out of the start gate with two big back-to-back top section airs, an absolutely huge stomp in the middle, and another big air and stomp to close out a really high-...

With world title races and critical points in every category hanging in the balance, the world’s best freeriders revelled under the pressure of Crunch Time and gave it their all in Andorra after patiently waiting for conditions to allow for today’s competition to go down. Léo Slemett (FRA) earned his second podium in a row with a very strong freestyle plan of attack, which included three nicely stuck 360s in the first half of his run and a clean and fluid second half that he closed out with a...

With world title races and critical points in every category hanging in the balance, the world’s best freeriders revelled under the pressure of Crunch Time and gave it their all in Andorra after patiently waiting for conditions to allow for today’s competition to go down. Blake Hamm (USA-1st Place) brought his strong freestyle game sticking a switch 180 followed by a big 360 at the top of the venue, a floaty and stylish 360 in the middle and a big bottom air to take his first career FWT win.

Wadeck Gorak (FRA- 1st Place) wowed the judges with an impressive line on his first time on the Bec. Wadeck cruised down the central couloir before hurling himself off the daunting Hollywood cliff. Showing us his control he linked this into another big cliff and a massive backflip to finish and claim his maiden FWT victory.

Jonathan Penfield (USA- 1st Place) set the category on fire with a dazzling show of big mountain snowboarding. The first rider out of the gates he linked together a series of huge airs including a backside 360. Entering more exposure, he calmly sent his way over another cliff and capitalized on his fluidity score.

Hometown hero Elisabeth Gerritzen (SUI- 1st Place) delivered the goods today showing us her control and style in big, exposed terrain. Fearlessly sending her first cliff deep she managed to hold her line and link it into a huge mandatory air. The excitement didn’t finish there with Elisabeth stomping another huge air and straightlining it home all the way to victory.
