LAAX OPEN 2020 with the World Cup in Halfpipe - Teaser

The 5th edition of the LAAX OPEN will take place from January 13 to 18, 2020. It is the snowboarding event highlight in Europe’s mountains and guarantees snowboarding at its finest. It includes high-quality contests in slopestyle and halfpipe for women and men, sanctioned by FIS and WS, and offers CHF 200,000 in prize money.

The LAAX OPEN will take place from 18-22 January 2023. The world-renowned freestyle event now also has freeskiing on board. The traditional Snowboard World Cup in Slopestyle and Halfpipe will be joined by the Freeski World Cup in Slopestyle. Around 300 freestyle World Cup riders are pleased to show off their skills at the prestigious international contest. After 2019 and 2020, Australian Scotty James once again took the win this year, wowing spectators with his stylish halfpipe run. Valentino Guseli (AUS) landed in second place, making a world premiere with a frontside 1620. Japan’s Ruka Hirano completes the podium in third place. In the women’s event, last year’s winner Mitsuki Ono from Japan won with 81.75 points. The young American Bea Kim and Ruki Tomita (JPN) completing the podium in second and third place.

The twenty finalists showed progressive runs at this first FIS Snowboard World Cup of the season.
