The Brothers Brower: Secret Storm

In the pursuit of filming backcountry skiing, getting tricks and skiing are the usually the least of your worries. Weather, snow conditions, avalanche safety, locations, snowmobiles, and other factors all have to line up before you can get a shot. The lack of snow this season has been frustrating, as everyone has felt.

After weeks of zero snow in March, we saw a chance of snow in the forecast. Hungry to ski powder, we decided to load up the sleds and head to our favorite zone, where miraculously the storm came—and over delivered. After a very snowy evening of skiing, we arrived back in the morning to find our zone untouched, deep, and cloudless. With everything finally in our favor, we got to work and filmed the majority of this edit. After a very satisfying day, we drove home to the city where people were enjoying springtime activities, oblivious to the snow that had just fallen high in the mountains.
