The O’Neill Cold Water Classic Scotland continues to revel in stunning conditions at Thurso!
Following a lay day yesterday, the 6 Star ASP event kicked off at 8.30am on this sunny Friday morning at Thurso East in a solid 6 foot swell. Due to small inconsistent waves The O'Neill Coldwater Classic Scotland was forced to hold off from running competition on the 2nd day after the incoming afternoon tide failed to pulse with adequate strength. Adam Melling (AUS) has won the first event of the 2011 O’Neill Cold Water Classic at Gisborne, New Zealand today claiming the ASP six-star event in the last 30 seconds over Brazilian surfer Willian Cardoso!!
The final took place at The Pines on Wainui Beach in clean 1.5m waves with offshore winds. Melling posted 15.20 out of a possible 20 points for the win. Celebrating his 26th birthday on the same day made his victory even more special.

The O’Neill Cold Water Classic New Zealand 2011 was ruled by the top seeds on the fourth day. The competition remained at ‘The Pipe’ on Midway Beach for the second consecutive day.
