Taj Burrow est un vrai surfeur Australien qui a commencé et appris le surf à 7 ans dans le sud ouest de l'Australie dans l'un des meilleur beachbreak "Yallingup".
Il se qualifie en 1998 sur le circuit WCT à l'âge de 18ans et devient le plus jeune surfeur à intégrer le tour. Il gagne même le prix de Best Rookie la même année et fini numéro 2 du tour un an plus tard. Taj est toujours un sérieux client à l'heure actuelle pour la lute du titre de champion du monde.
