The 7th Engadin Night Race registers a record number of 935 participants. In the darkness of the night, they complete the 17-kilometer route from Sils to Pontresina in the Engadin, Switzerland. The organizers already had to close registrations for the Night Race on Wednesday. All 935 prepared starting packages had been assigned. “This run is a dream,” says OC President Menduri Kasper. “The record number of participants is a great compliment from the participants to all our helpers.” The Engadin Skimarathon is set to take place on Sunday: By Thursday evening, over 12,300 participants had already registered. The weather forecasts and snow conditions promise a race under the best conditions. From the World Championships to the Engadin: Noe Näff (SUI) travels directly from the World Championships in Norway, where he finished in the top 20 in the sprint. His sprinting abilities also help him in the Engadin Night Race to keep Yannick Zellweger (SUI) behind him in the end and win by just two tenths of a second. Jakob Milz from Germany comes on third place. Malia Elmer (SUI) wins the women's category by a clear margin of 1:42 minutes ahead of Noémi Charrière (SUI) and Anna Happ (GER). Everything is now set for the big Engadin Skimarathon on Sunday, in which the majority of these runners will start again.
